Our Fantastic Elastic Brains

How is our brain like a rubber band? Third graders can answer that question for you. We have spent the week learning about our brain and how you can actually stretch and grow your brain. We have focused on the idea that facing challenges without giving up and even making mistakes are things that have been scientifically proven to strengthen our brain.

Knowing the science behind how our brain works helps us see why it is important to have a growth mindset and not a fixed mindset. People that have a growth mindset understand that hard work and perseverance makes them stronger. Our goal is to develop a mindset that gives us confidence to face and tackle challenges and to always look for ways to improve.

In our classroom we will celebrate the process of hard work and not only end results. We will always be on the look out for ways to s-t-r-e-t-c-h our brains and help them grow.
