A Musical Valentine

Students in Kindergarten have been doing a lot of work with the beat of music and the rhythm of the words in the music. For Valentine's Day we wanted to practice the beat of the music on our own with a fun game.

Individual students used a heart to represent the beat of the music and pointed to each classmate as they walked around and all sang a cute Valentine song. When the song was over, whoever they landed on became the new cupid and kept the beat around the room. They were all so excited and proud to get a turn carrying the heart beat around. All did an excellent job of keeping the beat which made the teacher's heart very proud too!
