I'm Burned Out --
This happens every so often ....... don't worry, I'm not quitting. I will get through this malaise. It comes on suddenly. Sometimes I can go months, but never more than six months. And then it hits. I hit a wall. Malaise.
It generally last seventy-two hours or less.
Music will help get me out of it. But music has to be played loud -- preferably with headphones.
And I have to keep typing.
In the old days, I had to keep writing -- in a journal -- in fact, I only needed to write a few hours and I pulled out of the malaise. But I don't hand-write journals any more. It's all about blogging.
So, let's see where the music takes me. Where the typing takes me.
Chris Isaak:
Shadows of a Man, Chris Isaak
I had to laugh when I first heard Chris Isaak's Forever Blue CD: ten songs and each song about a different way to lose the love of one's life. Car accidents; fights; boredom; whatever. But if the album was autobiographical, Chris Isaak was unable to hold a relationship together. He would have been the poster child for loneliness. Mostly self-inflicted, from what I can tell. Funny, I suppose if it weren't so sad. I love every song on that album except the first one, but apparently it's his best (on that album). At least if based on the amount of air time.
Which brings me to Lou Reed. I don't know why. But from Chris Isaak and Shadows of a Man my mind wanders to Lou Reed.
Off the net for awhile.
