Perhaps one of the most incredible 10-mile stretches through a canyon, from Shoshone to Thermopolis, the eastern gateway to Yellowstone, apparently. This is my first time ever in this area. Weather is perfect and because it's not the tourist season, no hassles getting around.

Not sure if I will stay here overnight or continue north.

Beartooth Highway ("212") was closed a week earlier than planned due to snow. I will probably bypass Yellowstone and head north on the east side of the mountains.

I heard every bit of Susan Collins' speech earlier this afternoon. More on that later. One word: incredible. People need to hear that speech in its entirety -- not just read it -- but actually listen to it. And then compare it to Heidi Heitkamp's reason for voting "no" on Kavanaugh.

By the way, I don't believe Susan Collins called Dr Ford a "survivor," but that's how she is being labeled. Those labeling here a "survivor" have not read the history of Ravensbrück. Or much else, I assume.
